Early on Oct. 22, Adele dropped a photo on Instagram giving fans a behind-the-scenes look of her preparing to host SNL. Captioning the photo “3 days to go,” the singer appears hard at work prepping for her role. However, the comments are less concerned about her upcoming appearance, and more about the music she has yet to release. “So when is the album?,” one Adele fan page with more than 113,ooo followers commented. Another user’s comment garnered more than 3,000 likes when they replied, “Please release your album asap!!” And for more notable recent Instagram posts, take a look at The New, Blonde Look Ayesha Curry Debuted on Instagram. In February, Adele told a crowd that her new album would drop September of this year, but with the pandemic hitting unexpectedly, that date was pushed back. Adele’s manager told NME that the album would not be coming in September, but gave no new date, only noting that “it’ll be ready when it’s ready.” Of course, fans are growing impatient because this will be the singer’s first album in five years, following the release of her critically-acclaimed 25 in 2015. When Adele took to Instagram to drop the news that she would be hosting SNL on Oct. 24, she wrote, “I’m so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified! My first ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things.” She immediately noted that she would be hosting alongside a different musical guest, R&B singer-songwriter H.E.R. “I am besides myself that H.E.R will be the musical guest!! I love her SO much I can’t wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs,” Adele wrote. And for more musicians people flail over, This Was the Hottest Pop Star the Year You Graduated. Adele is not the first musical guest to host SNL, of course. But typically, artists who are chosen to host pull a double-duty role of hosting and performing, like Taylor Swift in 2009 and Harry Styles, more recently, in 2019. And Adele is no stranger to performing on SNL, having done so twice before—once in 2008 and then in 2015 to promote her just-released album 25. This has led to confusion from fans, but Adele noted that hosting “feels full circle” and an opportunity she “couldn’t possibly say no” to, as it’ll be almost 12 years to the day that Adele first performed on SNL, which she says “went on to break [her] career in America.“ae0fcc31ae342fd3a1346ebb1f342fcb “I’ve always wanted to [host SNL] as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right,” the singer wrote in her Instagram post. “But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?” And for more celeb gossip, check out these Totally Absurd Celeb Rumors That Some People Really Believe. Certain fans are convinced that Adele’s SNL appearance is just a way for her to promote and announce the release of her new album. Showbiz411, the same source that apparently broke the news about Adele’s 25 album, says “all signs point to a new album” dropping Oct. 30, a week after her appearance. “Do y’all really think that Adele would leave her 5-year hiatus without public appearances for nothing? On one of the biggest shows in the world? If so, you don’t know Adele,” one fan account tweeted on Oct. 18. And for more up-to-date information, sign up for our daily newsletter.
