1 Fowl Play

The incident occurred at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The traveler had a frozen chicken packed into his luggage, which TSA allows so long as passengers abide by federal laws regarding packaging. Some eagle-eyed TSA agents realized there was something inside the chicken—and it wasn’t homemade stuffing.  2
The TSA agents found a handgun hidden inside the chicken, wrapped up in plastic to protect it from the meat. TSA guidelines about firearms are clearly stated on their website. “You may transport unloaded firearms in a locked hard-sided container as checked baggage only. Declare the firearm and/or ammunition to the airline when checking your bag at the ticket counter. The container must completely secure the firearm from being accessed. Locked cases that can be easily opened are not permitted. Be aware that the container the firearm was in when purchased may not adequately secure the firearm when it is transported in checked baggage.”
